The Regional Victoria Planners Guide 2008/2009 is launched at AIME 2008.
Regional Victoria’s conference venues have released the definitive guide and planning tool for meeting planners and organisations to industry colleagues.
The 2008/2009 Regional Victoria Planners Guide was launched to the industry by Gregory Hywood the CEO of Tourism Victoria at the Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo in February this year and features over 70 regional Victorian businesses and venues. Over 200 copies of the Regional Victoria Planners Guide were distributed to key delegates at the AsiaPacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) 2007 held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, where regional Victoria showcased some of the many quality regional properties it has on offer.
Showcasing the opportunities throughout Victoria as the clean air country alternative the guide acts as an informative planning tool for people and organisations involved with business events.
"This is the flagship product for ensuring meeting and business events organisers have regional Victoria in their mind when considering potential locations for meetings” said Mark Francis Chairman of the Regional Victoria Conference Group (RVCG).
“This year RVCG members will invest over $370K across a number of co-operative marketing initiatives promoting the business events capacity and strength of regional Victoria”.
“Regional Victoria truly caters for every type of conference from large hi-tech gatherings to intimate retreat-like settings along with a vast array of pre and post touring options” said Mr Francis.
Business events are a high yield market. According to the National Business Events Study, business events are worth $3.4 billion to the Victorian economy. For the year ending June 2005, 16% of all domestic overnight visitors into Victoria were visiting for business purposes.
The guide has a shelf life of approximately 2 years with a total of 10,000 copies being distributed. The RVCG work in partnership with Tourism Alliance Victoria to lead and support a professional and sustainable tourism industry in Victoria.
