and the broader community;

What we have done for
our members

Our track record speaks for itself. We have been engaged by the
Victorian Government and other authorities to deliver a number of
different projects and programs all aimed at assisting tourism
businesses across the State. |

Drought Assistance Program
Tourism Alliance developed and is
delivering the Drought Assistance Program in nominated regions across
Victoria. The project is providing training and professional assistance
to small businesses to increase the survival rate of tourism businesses,
assist business capitalise on tourism marketing campaigns and to improve
the overall business acumen of tourism businesses. Over 280 business
are anticipated to participate.

Industry Development Program
Tourism Alliance currently delivers a Tourism Industry Development
Program for the Victorian State Government. The program involves:

Managing the Visitor Information Centre Accreditation Program
across a network of 67 Visitor Information Centres;
-
Delivering professional development and vocational training to
Visitor Information Centres, local and regional organisations;
-
Providing strategic direction and advice to 30 regional tourism
organisations and over 100 local tourism associations;
-
Providing independent advice and consultation services regarding
regional tourism management to the 48 regionally located local
councils in Victoria.

Risk Management Program
This project delivered a comprehensive risk management program
including on-site risk assessments for 67 Adventure Tourism
operators throughout Victoria. The project was implemented on behalf
of the State Government.

Gold 150 Project
The
Gold 150 Celebration recognised the 150th Anniversary of the
Discovery of Gold in Victoria. The project supported regional tourism
events and infrastructure projects and an umbrella marketing campaign.
The campaign raised over $800,000 in industry dollars with 22 councils
and 19 community groups participating during the 12 month program.

Regional Co-operative Marketing Program (RCMP)
Our staff delivered
the Regional Co-operative Marketing Program over an 8 year period.
The program included co-ordination and liasion with 11 regional
marketing boards across Victoria. We advised the boards on tourism
marketing and branding strategies, governance and meeting
procedures, financial management and administration of incorporated
associations. We applied continuous improvement to the program over
the project period
