Privacy Policy
Tourism Alliance Victoria takes Privacy seriously. On 21st December 2001 the Privacy
Act of the Federal Government came into effect.
There are 10 National Privacy
Principles:

Tourism Alliance Victoria currently retains and will from time to time collect information
from its members and other organisations and individuals with whom
it does business and from members of the general public who have
requested information on tourism matters from the Tourism Alliance Victoria. This information is collected
and used primarily for purposes of providing information to its
members, doing business with other organisations and individuals
and providing information to members of the general public, in order
to promote the aims of the Tourism Alliance Victoria.
Information that is retained
by the Tourism Alliance Victoria is updated upon receipt
of notification of changes and is protected from distribution outside
of the Tourism Alliance Victoria except with the permission
of each of the relevant members, companies, organisations or individuals.
Members, organisations and
individuals with whom the Tourism Alliance Victoria does
business and the members of the general public can, at any time,
request from the Tourism Alliance Victoria the type of information
that is retained about them. The Tourism Alliance Victoria
will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the information it
does retain is accurate, complete and up to date. Access to information
about any individual or company can be given to them, except to
the extent that such information might impact on paragraphs a to
j of Principle Six of the National Privacy Principles.
Wherever possible Tourism Alliance Victoria will offer its members, companies and individuals
with whom it does business and members of the general public the
option of not identifying themselves in any transactions where the
information is collected or retained.
Information will not be provided
to other states or to foreign countries unless an express authority
is received from the relevant member, company or organisation or
member of the public subject to paragraphs a to f of Principle Nine
of the National Privacy Principles.
Sensitive information will
not be collected about members, organisations or companies with
whom the Tourism Alliance Victoria does business or members
of the general public. The all inclusive paragraphs of Principle
Ten of the National Privacy Principles apply.

Requests for Information
Information retained by the Tourism Alliance Victoria can
be provided by contacting the Privacy Officer. Personal details
provided to the Tourism Alliance Victoria in order to supply
the requested information will only be retained in order that the
supply of information may be undertaken.
Requests to Remain Anonymous
Requests to remain anonymous will be offered to any member, company
or organisation doing business with Tourism Alliance or member of the general public.
