Tourism Operator Workshop Tourism Alliance Victoria are offering four Tourism Operator Workshops this year and one will be held in Donald on Thursday the 18th of September 2008, so come along, see what’s happening in your industry and take part! The forum will cover current and relevant information on marketing, customer service skills, the current state of tourism and also the value of websites and reasons why they fail, internet advertising and internet trends for tourism businesses. Regional Tourism Community Awareness Campaign is on You Tube! Prime Television, Tourism Alliance and 22 regional local government organisations and tourism associations have banded together to create and launch the Regional Tourism Community Awareness Campaign. A new TV advertisement has been created, screening all over regional Victoria on the Prime Television network over an eight week period. Having kicked off on 26th July, the campaign has secured 136 prime time advertising slots in top rating shows such as Coxy’s Big Break, Sunrise, and Seven News.
Essentially a series of Victorian tourism visuals with a voice over, the purpose of RTCAC is to raise awareness of the significance of tourism in, and to, regional and rural communities. Click here to see a copy of the advertisement |

Tourism Alliance Victoria’s new and improved Starting up in Tourism workshop series will continue in 2008 with three seminars scheduled for Melbourne and for the first time two in regional Victoria. The remaining workshop for 2008 is: 8th October - Melbourne - Download a copy of the brochure 6pm - 9pm St Michaels Conference Centre (behind St Michaels Uniting Chuch) 120 Collins Street, Melbourne. Topics covered are Setting up a Tourism Business (licences & insurance, health & safety, risk management and business & marketing planning) and Tourism Industry Overview (tourism industry structure, research and networks and resources available). Each participant receives a comprehensive work book which is complemented by supporting statistical information, key contact lists and information on a range of support services to form a valuable resource kit. |
