Tourism Excellence - The Corner Piece of Visitor Satisfaction
The aim of the Tourism Excellence Strategy is that by 2010 Victoria’s Tourism Industry will be recognised for delivering outstanding visitor experiences.
A joint initiative of the Tourism Industry and Tourism Victoria, the Tourism Excellence Strategy was launched in April by the Hon. John Pandazopoulos MP Minister for Tourism.
Seven themes or modules that focus on ways to achieve overall excellence have been identified as basic components of the Strategy. These modules will be progressively introduced over a 12 month period and are designed to help Victoria’s tourism Industry create a competitive advantage by offering experiences that deliver high levels of visitor satisfaction. These are:
- Understanding Visitor Needs and Expectations
- People Excellence
- Business Excellence
- Growing Destinations
- Industry Participation
- Fostering Innovation
- Sustainability in Tourism
A tool kit that identifies key resources, grants and learning opportunities and that contains useful case studies will be made available with each module. These modules will be revisited annually, for a minimum of five years, with the goal of learning from the outcomes of the last twelve months and raising the bar higher each year.
