Tourism Alliance Annual Members Lunch

- What is Qi e hui chao?

Tourism Alliance Members enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with fellow industry colleagues during the annual Members lunch which followed on from the AGM.

A feature of the lunch was a presentation from Lindsay Goding, Marketing & Promotions Executive from the Philip Island Nature Park.  Earlier in the year Lindsay was awarded the inaugural Lynette Bergin Tourism Fellowship and his presentation focused on his recent trip to China, a trip funded through his fellowship award.

Members heard about important Cultural Differences, Chinese Travel Patterns, Economic Imbalances and were treated with a small Mandarin lesson.  Although some may have questioned what Lindsay believed to be the most important phrase “Qi e hui chao”, which means “The Penguin Parade”!

Lindsay received high praise for the quality of his presentation and the benchmark has been set for future fellowship recipients.  A copy of Lindsay’s report will be made a available to members in the near future.
