Macedon Ranges Resident's Passport to TourismTourism Alliance Victoria has worked with the Macedon Ranges business community to establish a shirewide tourism organisation "Tourism Macedon Ranges." The organisation is about to embark on a campaign "Your Passport to Stay" designed to encourage locals to visit their own area and become ambassadors for the region. The campaign has ignited a strategic partnership with the region’s health services.
Tourism Macedon Ranges Inc Chairman John Ellis welcomed the health services partnership which includes Kyneton District Hospital, Macedon Ranges Health Services and Cobaw Community Health. “‘Your Passport to Stay’ provides an opportunity for both groups to increase awareness of local health services and the diverse tourism industry through a campaign of fantastic offers, discounts, and incentives.” “Tourism provides jobs for Macedon Ranges residents which results in longer term economic benefit for our community.” Mr. Ellis said. Jennifer Gale, CEO of Kyneton Community Health shared the view that tourism and health services needed greater understanding and awareness among residents. “The partnership of health services of the Macedon Ranges Shire is a new approach. This will assist in raising awareness in the community about the range of services available from each agency to meet the health needs of the community within the Shire,” Jennifer Gale CEO of Kyneton District Health Services said. Thanks to this new and exciting partnership ‘Your Passport to Stay’ will be mailed to all residents of the Macedon Ranges in mid-October. |
