“The Centres handled over 5 million visitors a year and this does not include any phone or email enquiries. Even if they converted less than 20% of these to stay longer, its still a million people seeing more of Victoria and helping to boost local economies.

“As many people are now seeking information and wanting to book travel via the internet, one of the critical issues to discuss at the Summit will be how the Centres can influence the online enquiry world.

“Victorian Centres operate at the highest standard in Australia and if we can ensure online customers receive the same high levels of service, this is a positive message for visitors to Victoria.,” Ms Gove said.
