The Melbourne Airport Victorian Tourism Awards were held last night with Tourism Alliance Victoria members continuing their success from last year by winning fourteen awards.

Tourism Alliance Victoria is extremely proud of all twenty eight members who were nominated for Victorian tourism awards and in particular the following members who were successful in winning awards.

  • Sovereign Hill - Award for Major Tourist Attraction
  • Yering Station Vineyards - Award for Tourism Wineries
  • Immigration Museum - Award for Heritage & Cultural Tourism
  • Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne - Award for Tourism Retailing
  • Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne - Award for New Tourism Development
  • Go West Tours - Award for Significant Tour & Transport Operators
  • Koorie Heritage Trust - Award for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Tourism
  • Geelong Visitor Information Centres - Award for General Tourism Services
  • Werribee Open Range Zoo - Award for Unique Accommodation
  • Peppers Moonah Links - Award for Deluxe Accommodation
  • Victoria University - Award for Tourism Education and Training
  • A Maze ‘n’ Things - Award for Significant Tourist Attraction
  • Destination Melbourne - Award for Destination Promotion
  • Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park - Award for Tourist & Caravan Parks

     

In addition, Tourism Alliance congratulates Sovereign Hill, Immigration Museum, Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park and Yering Station Vineyards for achieving Hall of Fame status in their respective categories, an achievement that is very well deserved. Special mention also goes to Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne who won two awards!

The success of our members last night further indicates their high levels of professionalism and ongoing commitment to the tourism industry. We wish them all the best when they contest the 2006 Australian Tourism Awards on the Gold Coast in February.
