2007 Friends of Tourism Breakfast Tourism Alliance Victoria hosted breakfast this morning for 143 Tourism Industry leaders, including 21 Government Members of Parliament and the Minister for Tourism and Major Events the Hon. Tim Holding at the Windsor Hotel. Attendees included Parliamentary Secretary assisting the Premier on Multicultural Affairs, Liz Beattie, Parliamentary Secretary, Regional and Rural Development, Kaye Darveniza, Parliamentary Secretary, Emergency Services, Danielle Green Parliamentary Secretary, Agriculture, Ben Hardman, Parliamentary Secretary, Industrial Relations, Jaala Pulford and Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Minister for Major Projects, The Hon. Theo Theophanous. They were also joined by several Mayors, Councillors and CEOs from 19 different regional and local councils throughout Victoria, tourism attractions, institutes of learning, government agencies, and many tourism related businesses. Minister Holding provided an address highlighting Victoria’s competitive edge in major events, nature-based tourism, food & wine and our sophisticated urban environment. The Minister presented the importance of attracting international visitors to Victoria, as well as the need for new investment, a response to climate change, and the critical requirement of aviation access.
